Venn Group is looking for an Development Surveyor in East Midlands

Job description

We are currently working with a Midlands based Council who are looking for a Principal Development Surveyor to deliver a range of development, disposal, and valuation activities across their property portfolio, supporting the Council’s wider regeneration and asset management ambitions.


Principal Development Surveyor

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 Months Initially (Likely Extension)

Rate: £450-£475 p/d (Inside IR35)

Working Arrangement: flexible (Council Office and Site visits)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver multi-disciplinary property projects from inception to completion.
  • Support corporate asset management priorities, including asset review, disposal, acquisition, and valuation.
  • Undertake commercial negotiations and provide professional property advice.
  • Manage an agreed portfolio of assets and projects to meet financial and performance targets.
  • Liaise with agents, developers, tenants, occupiers, and potential purchasers.
  • Oversee consultants and ensure compliance with statutory, legal, and health & safety requirements.
  • Contribute to the annual asset valuation programme and prepare ad hoc valuations as required.
  • Identify revenue and capital generation opportunities through portfolio review.


Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • MRICS qualified with post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience in asset valuations, development, disposals, and commercial negotiation.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement and contract management.
  • Ability to analyse property issues, identify solutions, and implement effective actions.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing budgets and delivering financial targets.
