Air Export Operator

I’m currently working with a well established freight forwarder in Dartford that’s looking for an Air Export Operator with AOG experience to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, time-critical operations role and wants to work with a company that truly values its staff.

Location: Dartford, UK

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000

The Role

You’ll be responsible for handling time-critical air export shipments with a strong focus on AOGs and urgent logistics. This role requires quick decision-making, excellent communication, and the ability to manage high-pressure situations while ensuring shipments are delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle air export operations, specialising in AOG and urgent shipments
• Liaise directly with airlines, ground handling agents, and overseas partners to secure uplift
• Prepare and issue Air Waybills and all export documentation
• Complete UK customs export entries via CDS
• Track, trace, and proactively update customers on urgent movements
• Troubleshoot delays and provide rapid solutions to keep freight moving
• Ensure compliance with aviation security, export, and industry regulations
• Handle job invoicing, costings, and maintain accurate records

What My Client Is Looking For

• Experience in air freight exports
• Proven background in AOG/time-critical logistics
• Knowledge of UK export customs systems & processes (CDS)
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems quickly
• Strong communicator with excellent customer service skills
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
• UK-based freight forwarding background (essential)
