Job description

We are currently working with a Local Authority who are seeking an Interim Strategic Housing Asset Management Lead to provide leadership and direction across housing investment, regeneration, and compliance programmes. This is a key role within the Housing Leadership Team, supporting delivery of the Council’s long-term Asset Management Strategy.

Interim Strategic Housing Asset Management Lead

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 3–6 Months (Initial)

Rate: Negotiable (Inside IR35)

Working Arrangement: Full-time, hybrid with travel across East Suffolk sites

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership across housing services, ensuring delivery of the Asset Management Strategy.
• Oversee the completion of 100% stock condition surveys (including HHSRS) and develop long-term investment programmes.
• Lead delivery of major housing initiatives including the £12M Warm Homes Scheme and wider regeneration projects.
• Advise Members, colleagues, and residents on asset management, procurement, and housing compliance.
• Manage budgets, risks, and performance reporting to ensure housing assets remain safe, compliant, and well-maintained.
• Lead, support, and develop the Housing Capital Investment Team to achieve service objectives.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in housing asset management and delivery of capital investment programmes.
• Strong knowledge of housing legislation, compliance frameworks, and procurement processes.
• Proven track record of leading teams and delivering large-scale housing and regeneration projects.
• Professional qualification (RICS, CIH, CIOB, or similar) desirable.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across sites as required.
