Job description

We are working with a fantastic High Street Retailer who are looking for a Merchandiser to join their team on a 12 month FTC.


This is a key role within the team, responsible for driving sales, maximising profit and leading trade across a diverse product offering.


Key responsibilities:

  • Analyse, plan and forecast sales performance, identifying key opportunities and risks while putting forward action plans to optimise bestsellers and minimise poor performers.
  • Take ownership of trading, ensuring stock levels are optimised and repeat orders are signed off as necessary.
  • Manage the WSSI to meet agreed KPIs, controlling OTB effectively and maximising sales and margin opportunities.
  • Oversee supplier management, understanding the supply chain and sourcing base to deliver commercial advantages.
  • Partner with the Buying team to build profitable ranges, provide accurate reporting, and ensure margin and profit targets are achieved.
  • Lead and support an Assistant Merchandiser and Merchandising Admin Assistant, providing coaching and guidance to develop their skills and ensure consistent delivery of key tasks.
  • Deliver clear and engaging reporting to senior stakeholders, providing insight and recommendations to inform wider business decisions.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across Buying, Retail, Logistics and Finance, ensuring alignment and collaboration across all functions.
  • Forward forecast based on historical trading, ensuring continuity of flow lines and delivering a balanced range plan.


Our client is looking for someone who has:

  • A strong background and experience of working within a Fashion / Retail business within merchandising.
  • Exceptional planning and analytical skills, coupled with the drive to exceed expectations and be a natural strategic thinker.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, being able to effectively communicate across the business.
  • Have a positive “can-do” attitude, be decisive with a strong commercial awareness.


The role is hybrid with 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.
