We are hiring for our client, a well-established underwriting agency, who are seeking to appoint an experienced Underwriting Team Lead to manage and develop their Northern Ireland Commercial Team. The Role:


* Lead and manage the Commercial Underwriting Team for Northern Ireland, supporting team performance and development
* Provide technical guidance on underwriting queries and referrals across commercial products
* Ensure underwriting activity is compliant, consistent, and within delegated authority
* Monitor and manage workflow and performance KPIs
* Support onboarding and ongoing training of team members
* Collaborate with internal departments (claims, accounts, audit) and broker partners
* Contribute to product development and continuous improvement of underwriting processes
* Act as a senior point of contact for escalated broker queries and complaints
* Ensure internal standards and regulatory compliance requirements are met

The Person:


* Proven experience in commercial underwriting, ideally within motor, liability, property or package policies
* Prior team leadership or senior underwriting experience
* Excellent technical knowledge and decision-making skills
* Strong organisational and communication abilities
* Customer-focused, with experience supporting broker relationships
* Comfortable managing performance, mentoring others and setting team standards
* Adaptable and solutions-oriented with a proactive mindset
