M&A Lawyer - Insurance - London, UK

Angove Partners is partnering with an award-winning insurance underwriter, seeking an M&A Lawyer in London to join their team as an Underwriter. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in Mergers & Acquisitions at a law firm.

What is the role?

As a member of the underwriting team on transactional insurance deals, you will handle a variety of workstreams in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. The role will be very hands-on and provide in-depth exposure to M&A and corporate transactions. This role is based in London, UK.

What will you be doing?

• Review transaction documentation, including sale and purchase agreements, disclosure letters, and due diligence reports.
• Assess legal, financial and commercial risks associated with M&A transactions.
• Identify gaps or weaknesses in due diligence that could present coverage risks.
• Structure and price Warranty & Indemnity (W&I), tax liability, and contingent risk insurance policies.
• Draft and negotiate policy terms, limits, exclusions, and bespoke clauses tailored to the deal.
• Lead underwriting calls and discussions with brokers, lawyers, private equity firms, and corporate clients.
• Manage underwriting timelines to align with strict M&A deal completion schedules.
• Maintain strong client and broker relationships to encourage repeat business.
• Stay informed on M&A market trends, deal structures, and jurisdiction-specific regulations.

What do you need to apply to this role?

We anticipate that candidates will have at least two years of M&A Law experience. Experience working with W&I would be advantageous.
