We are a leading construction consultancy/contractor (customizable), specialising in delivering high-profile commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments across London and the UK. With a growing pipeline of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) projects, we are seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team.


Job Summary:

The MEP Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial management and cost control of MEP packages on major construction projects. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors, the QS will ensure budgets are adhered to, risks are managed, and value is optimised throughout the project lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage accurate cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, and public health).
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotations and negotiate contracts.
  • Monitor project progress and produce monthly commercial reports.
  • Conduct valuations of work done and manage interim payments.
  • Track variations, change orders, and ensure timely cost recovery.
  • Perform risk and value management on projects.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, and regulations.
  • Support in final account preparation and project close-out.


Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a QS role, with a strong focus on MEP.
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations and standard forms of contract (JCT, NEC).
  • Strong numerical and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Proficient in relevant software such as Excel, CostX, Bluebeam, or similar.
  • Membership of RICS or working towards is preferred.
