Locum Planning Lawyer – South West – Local Authority – Predominantly Remote Working – 3 Months + - £60ph via umbrella

Venn Group’s specialist Legal team is recruiting for a Locum Planning Lawyer to join a reputable Local Authority in the South West. This is a locum role for an initial term of 3 months and is subject to extension thereafter. Our client is ideally recruiting on a full-time basis. For this position you will need to be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive.

Duties and responsibilities for this post may include:

• Holding own caseload of planning matters
• Drafting and negotiating Section 106 agreements
• Attending monthly planning committees
• Supporting with regeneration from both a planning and governance perspective
• Providing professional legal advice on planning law
• Advising on both investigations on and enforcement against breaches of planning regulations
• Advising planning and enforcement officers at all levels of seniority on a wide range of development management and planning-related matters

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Planning law gained within a Local Authority and will be confident to jump straight in and assist the team in what has proven to be a busy period. An hourly rate of up to £60 (via umbrella company) is offered for this position, alongside predominantly remote working (with monthly attendance for planning committees).
