Job description
Position: Principal – Education Fund
Location: Riyadh, KSA
About the Role
We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Principal to lead investments for a newly carved-out Education Fund sponsored by an international investment bank. The fund is focused on identifying, acquiring, and growing investment opportunities across the global education sector—including K-12, higher education, vocational training, edtech platforms, and education-related services. The Principal will play a key leadership role in fund strategy, deal origination, portfolio management, and exit planning, working closely with senior stakeholders and the investment committee.
Key Responsibilities:
Fund Strategy & Leadership
- Contribute to shaping the investment strategy and thematic priorities of the Education Fund.
- Lead origination efforts across education subsectors, building strong networks with operators, advisors, and co-investors.
- Represent the fund in conferences, investor meetings, and sector-focused events.
Deal Sourcing & Execution
- Identify, evaluate, and structure investment opportunities in line with the fund’s mandate.
- Lead financial modeling, valuation analysis, due diligence processes, and transaction execution.
- Negotiate key terms with counterparties, advisors, and co-investment partners.
Portfolio Management
- Oversee existing portfolio companies, working with management teams to drive operational improvements and growth.
- Provide strategic input on governance, capital structure, and long-term value creation.
- Monitor performance against KPIs and report to the investment committee.
Investor & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key point of contact between the fund and its LPs (including the sponsoring investment bank and external investors).
- Prepare and present investment memoranda, portfolio updates, and strategic reports.
- Support fundraising efforts for future fund vintages and co-investment vehicles.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
- CFA designation is an advantage.
- 8–12 years of experience in private equity, growth equity, investment banking, or principal investing.
- Strong track record of executing deals, ideally with exposure to the education sector or adjacent industries (edtech, human capital, training services).
- Prior experience managing portfolio companies and driving operational value creation.
- Exceptional financial modeling, valuation, and transaction structuring skills.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management experience.
- Deep network across the education ecosystem and institutional investor community.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a newly launched platform.
