International Delegated Property Underwriter in City of London

Job description

We are searching for a top-tier specialty insurer to bring in an International Delegated Property Underwriter who will build and manage a portfolio of international property binders (not North America). I am looking for somebody from a composite or specialty insurer, MGA, or cover holder background, who is looking for a senior role within a collegiate DUA team with exciting growth plans.

Ideal for an established underwriter who backs their judgement and wants the platform of an A-rated carrier.

What you’ll do

• Underwrite new/renewal binders within authority and guidelines
• Track scheme performance (premium, exposure, loss ratios) and lead coverholder reviews/audits
• Develop broker/coverholder relationships; support onboarding and new product ideas
• Ensure FCA/PRA & Lloyd’s compliance; present MI and portfolio updates

What you’ll bring

• Significant underwriting experience across one or more of: Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Europe (market practice, wordings, cat exposure, regulatory nuance)
• 5+ years’ property underwriting with delegated authority (international commercial & HNW/homeowners)
• Strong broker/coverholder engagement and negotiation skills
• Solid grasp of conduct risk & contract certainty
• ACII (or progressing) preferred
• Existing relationships in the above territories a plus
