Job description

Want to get off the tools but still use your skills? I'm recruiting for someone with a pipefitting or welding background who is keen to swap those freezing cold days on-site for a nice cosy office environment.

• My client is a well-established business in Ayrshire delivering high-quality engineering solutions to a wide industry base. With continued growth, they're looking to add to their Estimating team.
• Prior experience in estimating or proposals is not required, as training will be provided.
• What matters most is your technical knowledge of pipe work and / or fabrication projects, combined with good communication and organisation skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with the operations team to prepare accurate proposals, quotations and costings for client projects
• Reviewing client specifications and drawings to ensure scope is fully understood
• Liaising with engineers, welders and project staff to gather project requirements
• Supporting tender submissions and project documentation
• Developing estimating skills with support and mentoring

What's Required

• Background in pipefitting, site welding or fabrication
• Ability to interpret drawings and technical requirements
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Willingness to learn the “paperwork side” of projects
• Good communicator who likes solving problems
