Risk Lawyer - Global Law Firm

Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

London Based - Hybrid Working (3 Office Days Per Week)

Salary Up To £95,0000pa (pro rata)

Our client, a globally recognised law firm, is urgently seeking an experienced Qualified Lawyer to join them on a fixed-term basis in London - working as their new Risk Lawyer, covering maternity!

This firm specialises in solving complex issues within areas such as; Shipping, Aviation and Construction. You'll be part of an experienced Risk & Compliance team - providing support to the Risk & Compliance Partner (who is London based), the Head of Risk and the COLP.

As the successful Risk Lawyer, you'll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

- Assisting the COLP and Partner with numerous daily queries regarding the SRA Code, best practice, conflicts and ethics

- Writing/amending terms of engagement

- Analysing conflict reports and advising on complex conflict-related issues

- Developing and maintaining the firm's policies and processes

- Identifying new or changed regulatory requirements that have an impact on the firm

- Keeping registers and monitoring compliance

To be considered for this Risk Lawyer role, you'll need to have/be the following:

- Be a Qualified Lawyer (England & Wales)

- Have a minimum of 2 years' legal compliance experience (ideally from an international law firm)

- Be familiar with the SRA Handbook

- Have up-to-date knowledge of relevant areas of law and procedure

- Ideally, have general knowledge of relevant areas (AML, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery, Data Protection)
