Work with a Specialist Consultancy Delivering for Tier 1 Contractors

We’re working with a small but fast-growing and highly respected consultancy that partners closely with Tier 1 contractors on major UK infrastructure projects. They’re now looking to bring on board an experienced Quantity Surveyor who understands the demands of working in contractor-side environments and can add immediate value to commercial and change processes.

You’ll be part of a tight-knit consultancy team, but work day-to-day within contractor delivery teams—so you’ll need to be confident, proactive, and commercially sharp.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll support high-value programmes by leading key commercial activities and managing NEC change processes in fast-paced project environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and managing NEC3/NEC4 compensation events, early warnings, and risk provisions
  • Working with planning teams (Primavera P6) to evaluate programme impacts and delays
  • Supporting subcontractor engagements and validating change/entitlement
  • Managing cost forecasts, change registers, and cash flow reporting
  • Contributing to commercial strategy, dispute avoidance, and resolution support

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be experienced in contractor-side commercial delivery, even if currently in a consultancy role.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Good working knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Previous work on major infrastructure, rail, or civil engineering projects
  • Background working directly for contractors, or consultancies supporting contractors
  • Understanding of planning tools and outputs (e.g., Primavera P6 schedules)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work confidently in live delivery environments

What’s On Offer

  • £50,000 – £70,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
  • Travel to and from the office fully paid + expenses for client travel
  • Private medical insurance
  • Professional development budget + 1:1 mentoring
  • Hybrid working: 2–3 days onsite in Central London; remainder remote
  • Permanent or freelance options available depending on your preference
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact UK infrastructure projects

Why This Role?

This is a great opportunity to:

  • Join a small, hands-on consultancy where you’re more than just a number
  • Be embedded within Tier 1 contractor teams working on high-value infrastructure programmes
  • Gain exposure to complex change environments and sharpen your NEC expertise
  • Work in a flexible, hybrid setup with travel costs fully covered
