Your Strategic Impact

  • Lead transformation: Define and implement HVAC processes and standards across the entire estate
  • Drive sustainability: Contribute directly to Net Zero Carbon goals through innovative HVAC solutions
  • Shape policy: Act as subject matter expert, influencing departmental policy and best practices
  • Mentor others: Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams and stakeholders


Key Responsibilities That Matter

Technical Leadership

  • Define HVAC-related processes including BMS, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and ancillary systems
  • Provide expert advice on specifications, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Review and validate technical solutions from BMS reviews, PPMs, and major projects

Asset Excellence

  • Maintain comprehensive HVAC asset registers and support strategic asset management
  • Conduct deep-dive audits to resolve performance issues and drive continuous improvement
  • Monitor compliance and maintain live risk registers to ensure operational safety

Strategic Collaboration

  • Work closely with Supply Chain Managers and Service Delivery teams
  • Support Capital and Major Projects with technical expertise
  • Analyse performance data to identify improvement opportunities and cost efficiencies


Essential Experience

  • Proven expertise with HVAC systems across large, complex estates
  • Deep knowledge of HVAC legislation, safety standards, and compliance requirements
  • Asset management excellence with experience in PPM schedules (e.g., SFG20)
  • Senior-level experience in facilities management and technical compliance
  • Stakeholder influence with ability to resolve complex technical challenges
  • CAFM systems proficiency and cost-effective compliance solutions
  • Leadership capabilities with strong communication and mentorship skills

Desirable Qualifications

  • HNC/HND in HVAC Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent safety qualification
  • Degree in Building Services, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Chartered membership of IMechE, CIBSE, or similar professional institution
