Job role: Residential Childcare Support Worker
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £28,683 - £29,426 annually
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to children living in a residential setting, ensuring their well-being and assisting in their development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day care and support to children in a residential environment.
- Create a safe and nurturing environment where children feel valued and cared for.
- Assist children with daily activities, including personal care, education, and recreational pursuits.
- Support children in developing social skills and emotional resilience.
- Implement and follow individualized care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Monitor and record children's progress and behavior, reporting any concerns to senior staff.
- Engage in play and recreational activities that promote physical and mental well-being.
- Work collaboratively with a team of professionals, including social workers, therapists, and educators.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities regularly.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding protocols to protect children.
Essential Qualifications:
- A strong desire to work with children and impact their lives positively.
- Ability to communicate effectively and empathize with children from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desired Experience:
- Experience in a childcare or residential care setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of child development principles and practices is preferred.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by children in care and the importance of supportive relationships.
