Deputy MLRO – Central London (Hybrid)
About the role
A leading international bank is hiring a Deputy MLRO to join its London office. This is a high-profile leadership role with responsibility for strengthening the firm’s financial crime resilience and driving ownership of the bank-wide compliance framework.
Working closely with the Head of Compliance and MLRO, you’ll provide oversight across AML, ABAC, fraud, and wider financial crime risks, while leading and developing a compliance team. The role sits in the second line of defence, ensuring the bank’s controls and policies remain robust, compliant, and commercially effective.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the oversight of the bank’s AML, CTF, and ABC frameworks
- Supporting the MLRO with regulatory reporting and SARs
- Leading on KYC/CDD/EDD processes, with a focus on PEPs, sanctions, and adverse media screening
- Oversight of transaction monitoring and escalation of suspicious activity
- Contributing to financial crime risk assessments, policies, and training across the business
- Acting as a point of contact with regulators and external stakeholders where required
We’re looking for:
- Strong knowledge of UK financial crime regulations
- Previous experience in a banking or financial services compliance environment
- Exposure to AML, sanctions, transaction monitoring, and KYC/CDD/EDD
- Excellent stakeholder management and team leadership skills
- Willingness to be office-based in Central London three days per week
