Job description

This role will head up Utility Line’s Tendering & Pre-Construction departments, working on full turnkey electrical projects throughout the UK. In this role you will lead the Tendering and Pre-Construction Teams through the tendering and planning stages of projects, from initial enquiry all the way through to handover at Pre-Construction.  


Key Responsibilities

 

Tendering

 

  • Support the team with the scope of new project enquiries
  • Support the Tendering Manager by providing clear direction, guidance and set expectations for the relevant individual and wider estimating team
  • Ensure existing leads and outstanding tenders are followed up by the Bid Team and act as support if/when required to make adjustments to win new projects
  • Ensure that the output of new tenders are always managed in a timely manner
  • Ensure the timely handover of won projects to the Pre-Construction teams

 

Pre-Construction

 

  • Act as a contact with our customers to handle all escalated issues relating to pre-construction
  • Ensure that handovers from the Pre-Construction team to the Construction teams are completed on time and in line with client expectations
  • Provide technical support to Pre-Construction team and others who may require

 

Overall

 

  • Deliver supportive business communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to management team meetings, briefing and correspondence
  •  Identify and implement performance improvement processes
  •  Monthly and ad-hoc reporting on your business functions
  • Forecast project delivery timescales to support operational delivery planning
  • Contract Management with Group Contracts Team

 

 

Who we are looking for?


We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual that’s a great team player but also able to collaborate with others.


  •  3+ years of experience working within a similar role for a NERS accredited ICP or DNO/IDNO
  • Experience and knowledge working within a Tendering & Pre-Construction function
  • Experience in team and workloads management
  • Excellent technical and commercial knowledge on the delivery of EV infrastructure, grid connection, residential, data center & solar projects
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Great track record of developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Good understanding of contracts and contractual terminology
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a clear focus on accuracy and clarity
