Project Finance Lawyer – Energy & Infrastructure (London)


A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious lawyer to join a highly ranked Projects and Energy Transition team, advising on some of the most significant and innovative transactions in the market.


The Role


You’ll be advising corporates, financial institutions and governments on project finance matters in the UK and internationally, with a strong focus on emerging markets and the Middle East. The team’s work spans:


  • Renewable energy, batteries and new technologies (including green hydrogen)
  • Transitional energy such as gas-fired power stations
  • Traditional oil & gas projects
  • Major infrastructure projects including roads, rail, airports, ports and social infrastructure


As part of this role, you’ll gain exposure to complex, cross-border deals, frequently collaborating with local counsel and colleagues across multiple jurisdictions.


Key Responsibilities


  • Drafting and negotiating facility agreements, common terms agreements, intercreditor agreements, security documents and ancillary documentation
  • Advising on term sheets and debt structures
  • Assisting with and supervising due diligence exercises
  • Managing international transactions, including coordinating conditions precedent and liaising with local counsel


About You


We are looking for lawyers with around 5+ years’ post-qualification experience in project finance, ideally gained within the infrastructure, energy transition and/or oil & gas sectors. You’ll also bring:


  • Strong academic track record and excellent technical skills
  • Experience advising on large or complex transactions
  • Proven transaction management and organisational skills
  • The ability to build strong client relationships and contribute to business development
  • A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for challenging, high-quality work
