Business Unit Lead – Red Meat Division
Location: UK
QLM is supporting a major international food group in the search for a Business Unit Lead to take full responsibility for its newly created red meat division. Covering procurement, commercial and operational activity across several sites, this is a senior role with full P&L accountability. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver growth, improve profitability and raise standards across a fast-paced, complex supply chain.
The Role
Reporting into the Director of Operations, you will set the strategic direction for the division while remaining closely involved in day-to-day performance. With oversight of site directors, procurement, supply chain and commercial functions, your remit will span both operational delivery and customer relationships. The focus will be on ensuring efficiency, hitting budgeted financial targets, and strengthening partnerships with major retail and foodservice customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-site operations and cross-functional teams to achieve sustained growth and efficiency.
- Take ownership of budgets and ensure delivery of cost, revenue and EBITDA commitments.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and drive category innovation.
- Improve yield, labour and capital utilisation, embedding best practice across all sites.
- Provide clear, visible leadership and develop a culture of accountability and performance.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality and sustainability standards, ensuring robust governance.
About You
We are seeking a senior leader from the food manufacturing sector, ideally with red meat experience, who can balance commercial sharpness with operational know-how. You should have:
- A proven record of running multi-site operations across procurement, supply chain and commercial functions.
- A sound grasp of revenue and margin drivers, with strong S&OP and financial management capability.
- Experience in delivering transformation and performance improvements in demanding environments.
- Leadership skills that inspire confidence with stakeholders and build engagement at every level.

Please note -That this position can be based in one of two position in the UK and candidates will be required to meet with country sites.
