User Researcher – Public Sector Contract

Day Rate: £525–£565 (Inside IR35)

Location: Remote-first

Length: 6 month - rolling

Our client is looking for an experienced User Researcher with current (or eligible) SC clearance to support a major public sector transformation initiative. This is an opportunity to work with a consultancy delivering critical services that shape how government interacts with citizens.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven track record delivering user research in government and UCD environments.
• Strong knowledge of GDS principles and agile ways of working.
• Experience designing, planning, and conducting research that drives service and interaction design.
• Ability to map services end-to-end, uncover friction points, and develop solutions collaboratively with stakeholders.
• Comfortable presenting insights and running workshops to embed user-centred thinking across teams.

Contract details:

• Rate: £525–£565 per day (Inside IR35).
• Clearance: Active SC or eligible to obtain.
• Start date: Immediate.
• Remote-first role with occasional travel as required.
