Principal Associate – Commercial Law

Location: Birmingham | Full-time | Permanent | 8+ years PQE

Overview

Our client, a leading law firm, is expanding its presence in Birmingham and is seeking a talented Principal Associate – Commercial to join their newly established office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior solicitor to lead on high-value, strategic commercial matters across a wide range of sectors.

The Role

As Principal Associate, you will work closely with clients and colleagues to deliver expert legal advice on:

  • Commercial contracts
  • Supply and purchasing agreements
  • Agency and distribution arrangements
  • Outsourcing and IT agreements
  • IP licensing
  • Data protection and privacy matters

You will also support:

  • Business development initiatives
  • Team supervision and mentoring
  • Firm-wide strategic projects

Candidate Profile

Our client is looking for a commercially minded legal professional with:

  • 8+ years PQE, ideally from a City or large regional firm
  • Strong technical expertise in commercial, IP, and IT law
  • A pragmatic, client-focused approach to legal advice
  • A passion for leadership and mentoring
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
