Job description

A great opportunity to join our Marketing team with a passion for high quality bakery products.

The role includes:-

·        Manage factory trials in both our Bread and Bake-Off factories, capturing all relevant information, following the NPD procedure guidelines.

·        Recipe experimentation and producing concept samples in the academy.

·        Liaise with Group NPD where required to gain knowledge of products, assisting with launching products.

·        Support NPD projects through to launch providing factory operatives with coaching and instruction where necessary.

·        Managers on trials results, project updates with scheduled regular meetings.

·        Work with Project and Product Managers, Operations Manager and Head of Innovation to support in sourcing, designing and testing packaging types and materials.

·        Work with Product Development Managers, Project Managers, Operations Manager and Head of NPD & Innovation to source, design and test packaging type and materials.

·        Liaise with suppliers to obtain packaging and ingredient samples keeping up to date with the latest innovations.

·        To support with managing the Academy facility, maintaining a clean and tidy area, ensuring ingredients are properly labelled and rotated. Freezer samples clearly marked and organised.   

·        To maintain all site-based NDP paperwork and systems.

·        Record and maintain a weekly meeting with the site departments to align teams on all ongoing NPD and EPD projects.            

·        Assist with product transfers and contingency projects using site knowledge and expertise to run trials when required.                                      

·        Continuously improve bakery knowledge and that of new ingredients, process and techniques.

·        Bake off and pack samples for internal and external review.

·        Organise the sending of samples of new and current products to customers.

·        Be a part of the audit team, keep paperwork ready for unannounced and announced audits, and participate in audits when required.

Skills and Experience

·        3+ years bakery industry experience

·        Good ingredient and product knowledge      

·        Ability to formulate recipes and develop products

·        Operational and factory process experience

·        Excellent organisational skills

·        IT literate – Excel and Powerpoint

·        Good communicator
