Job Title: Customs Administrator

Location: Onsite – Stafford

Hourly Rate: £18.93

Job Type: 12 month contract assignment - likely to extend!

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 08:00-16:30 / Friday 08:00-13:00

About the Role:

We are currently recruiting for a Customs Administrator to join a leading manufacturing organisation at their engine facility in Stafford. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to support the international movement of goods, ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations and internal company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately provide customs clearance instructions to brokers within strict UK regulatory timelines
• Ensure all imports are cleared compliantly and in line with HMRC and company procedures
• Manage and check import documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Liaise with stakeholders to resolve queries and discrepancies
• Calculate customs duties and identify opportunities for duty savings
• Maintain accurate and auditable records for HMRC inspections
• Monitor compliance metrics and escalate issues when necessary
• Coordinate classification requests and contribute to process improvements

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of managing multiple priorities
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Confident communicator (written and verbal)
• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (e.g., pivot tables, basic formulas, formatting)

Desirable:

• Experience in large or multinational organisations
• Previous experience in import/export operations
• Familiarity with Incoterms and CDS (Customs Declaration Service)
