Job description

We are partnered with a fast-growing, VC-backed technology scale-up that’s redefining how businesses use AI-powered conversational solutions to engage customers. With a strong client base already in place and ambitious international expansion plans, they’re now hiring their first CTO to take ownership of the technology vision and strategy.

This is a founding leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO, with a competitive package and meaningful equity.

What you’ll be doing

• Defining and executing the technology roadmap and long-term architecture.
• Staying hands-on across Node.js, Python, SQL, and LLM/AI integrations.
• Building scalable APIs to enable integrations and cross-sector expansion.
• Designing and optimising data pipelines to power analytics and AI-driven insights.
• Establishing engineering best practices, DevOps, security, and data governance.
• Growing the team to 12–16 engineers over the next year.
• Acting as a technical partner for enterprise clients and supporting commercial growth.
• Supporting fundraising and investor discussions, including technical due diligence

What they’re looking for

• Proven technical leadership in a startup/scale-up, ideally from seed to Series A.
• Hands-on coding skills across Node.js, Python, SQL, and APIs.
• Experience with AI/LLM integrations.
• Track record of building and scaling data pipelines and working with large datasets.
• Experience growing and leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills, able to engage with engineers, partners, and investors.

Nice-to-haves: multi-channel systems experience, exposure to complex data sets, strong grounding in enterprise-level security, and DevOps/cloud knowledge.
