Pilot Plant Planner

A leading company in advanced battery materials is seeking a Pilot Planner to support their pilot plant operations. They develop innovative technology that makes batteries lighter, more powerful, and longer-lasting, with real-world impact on energy storage solutions.


Role Overview

As a Pilot Planner, you will coordinate daily activities at the pilot plant, ensuring smooth, safe, and compliant operations. You will work closely with R&D, process engineering, and commercial teams to deliver high-quality samples and data on time, while driving continuous improvements in efficiency, safety, and quality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate daily pilot plant activities, including experimental trials, sample production runs, and process changes.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and support problem resolution.
  • Manage shift schedules, documentation, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee inventory of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods with ERP accuracy.
  • Ensure on-time packaging and dispatch of customer samples.
  • Maintain high standards of facility housekeeping and 5S practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Act as a safety champion, supporting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.


Candidate Profile

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management.
  • Flexible and dependable, with willingness to support out-of-hours operations when needed.
  • Safety-first mindset, with knowledge of EHS and quality standards.
  • Customer-focused, with experience coordinating shipments or sample fulfilment advantageous.
