Escape Procurement & Supply Chain are working exclusively with an established manufacturer who is looking to appoint a Buyer to join their Purchasing & Materials team.

It is an exciting time to join the business as they are investing in a brand-new production area to increase capacity, with a strong order book already secured for the next 12 months and beyond.

The Buyer will play a key part in ensuring materials are sourced, suppliers are managed and production is fully supported. Main responsibilities will include:

• Managing and reviewing MRP to plan material purchasing in line with production requirements
• Negotiating prices and delivery schedules with suppliers
• Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships across the UK and Europe
• Driving supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery, quality and OTIF
• Maintaining optimal inventory levels to support production
• Collaborating with colleagues in engineering, production planning, and finance

What we are looking for

• Experience in a similar Purchasing/Buyer role within a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in raw material purchasing and materials management
• Confident using MRP systems
• Proven supplier management and negotiation skills
• Track record of delivering cost savings and added value through supplier negotiations
• A collaborative team player with strong self-motivation and work ethic
