Selby Jennings have partnered with an industry-leading global insurance carrier, currently seeking a commercially minded Enterprise Risk Actuary to join their European ERM function.


This is a high-profile opportunity for an actuary with strong stakeholder engagement skills to play a key role in the development and strategic use of internal risk frameworks and the capital model. The successful candidate will support decision-making across both sides of the balance sheet, contributing to stress testing, scenario analysis, and broader risk insights.


The team is open to candidates from a range of actuarial backgrounds - including pricing, reserving, capital modelling, or risk - who bring a collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate complex ideas to senior stakeholders. The role offers broad exposure across underwriting, claims, finance, investments, and compliance, with visibility at the highest levels of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Deliver deep-dive actuarial reviews and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead stress and scenario testing, linking results to emerging risk processes.
  • Enhance ERM reporting tools and contribute to integrated dashboards.
  • Operate and interpret the internal capital model, ensuring outputs are accurate and actionable.
  • Support capital assessments, model validation, and strategic model use initiatives.
  • Collaborate across functions and oversee offshore risk management activities.


Role Requirements:


  • Nearly or newly qualified actuary.
  • Experience in one or more areas: pricing, reserving, capital modelling, or risk.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, data analysis tools, Actuarial software and programming languages.
