Job description
The Development Designer will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing engineering solutions that enhance the functionality, aesthetics, and efficiency of Beauty retail environments. The role bridges the gap between creative design & manufacturing, ensuring that retail spaces meet operational, technical and customer experience standards, executing and leading the full design process from ideation to production.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development:
Create and refine engineering designs for retail fixtures, layouts, and systems
Collaborate to integrate engineering solutions into retail concepts.
Ensure compliance with manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and brand standards.
Project Management:
Lead technical aspects of retail displays and rollouts.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
Conduct site assessments & provide engineering input during planning & installation phases
Technical Support:
Provide ongoing support for retail systems with production & Client management teams
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
Assist in testing and validation of new technologies and systems.
Innovation & Optimization:
Research and implement sustainable and energy-efficient engineering solutions.
Develop scalable solutions for multi-location retail environments.
Key Skills and Experience
- Proven 2D and 3D engineering experience within the Beauty industry.
- Understanding of the manufacturing process and materials involved in the production of Permanent POS Displays
- Knowledge in SolidWorks & project management software
- Prioritization of engineering requests to increase speed to market and maintain efficiency within the manufacturing facility
- Demonstrates ability to lead and execute complex, cross-functional projects from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or relevant technical degree
- Proficient in Solidworks
- Strong organizational and communication skills
