Assistant Underwriter / Trainee Underwriter

Our client is looking for an ambitious Assistant/Trainee Underwriter to join their underwriting team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop technical underwriting skills, and support a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite accounts under the guidance of the Senior Underwriter.
• Handle day-to-day enquiries from brokers and clients.
• Support new business development and maintain strong client relationships.
• Coordinate underwriting tasks including quotations, policy documentation, and renewals.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance in all underwriting administration.
• Collaborate with claims and other internal teams to deliver excellent service.

Candidate Profile:

• MUST HAVE 2 YEARS MINIMUM OF TRANSPORTATION AND/OR LOGISTICS INUSRANCE EXPERIENCE EITHER BROKNG OR UNDERWRITING
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular) and willing to learn bespoke systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Working towards DipCII is desirable.
• Willingness to travel in the future.
