Northern Queensland | Registrar / PHO | Start: Late 2025 / Early 2026
Frontier Consulting is proud to partner with a leading coastal regional hospital in Queensland, seeking motivated and experienced Emergency Department Registrars to join their dynamic ED team. The Role
As an ED Registrar, you will be an integral part of a supportive and well-structured Emergency Department. You’ll gain exceptional clinical exposure and the opportunity to broaden your procedural experience, with the guidance of FACEMs, Senior Medical Officers, and an established multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Provide assessment, diagnosis, and management across a wide range of emergency presentations
✔ Lead the stabilisation and care of critically ill and trauma patients under supervision
✔ Engage in airway management, resuscitation, sedation, and acute interventions
✔ Mentor and supervise junior doctors and medical students
✔ Collaborate with inpatient teams and external providers to ensure safe patient flow
✔ Participate in education, audits, and quality improvement
About the Hospital
This is a modern, well-equipped regional referral centre on the northern Queensland coast, serving a diverse population. The ED is known for its broad case-mix, exposure to trauma, tropical medicine, and Indigenous health, making it a unique training ground for ambitious registrars.
Essential Criteria
General registration or eligibility via the Competent Authority Pathway (CAP) with AHPRA
Minimum 3 years post-graduate clinical experience, including Emergency Medicine
Strong acute care and decision-making skills
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Hold a primary medical degree from a medical school recognised by the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS).

Have completed a 12-month supervised internship (intern year / PGY1 equivalent) in UK or Ireland
