Part-Time or Full-Time Sonographer Urgently Needed


Job Title: Sonographer



Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a range of ultrasound examinations, including but not limited to abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, and vascular scans.
  • Interpret ultrasound images and provide accurate reports to referring clinicians.
  • Work collaboratively with radiologists, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
  • Supervise and support junior sonographers and students in their clinical training.
  • Participate in service development, quality improvement initiatives, and audit activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procedures and patient interactions.
  • Stay updated with advancements in ultrasound technology and practices.
  • Work within the ultrasound service as part of the community diagnostic centres.
  • Experience in obstetric, gynaecological, and abdominal ultrasound is essential.


Essential Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree or diploma in diagnostic imaging or equivalent.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a sonographer.
  • Extensive experience in performing a variety of ultrasound examinations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).


Skills Required:

  • Postgraduate qualification in medical ultrasound or equivalent.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring junior staff.
  • Knowledge of specialized ultrasound techniques


Working Schedule:

  • Flexible hours; however, availability on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday is required.
  • Minimum hours: 08:00 am – 17:00 pm.
