Quantity Surveyor – Client Side Developer

South West / West London

I’m representing a London based property developer with a diverse project pipeline spanning refurbishments, new builds and fit-outs. They act as both developer and self-delivering contractor, giving their commercial team exposure to the full project lifecycle.

Great opportunity for:

• Quantity Surveyors from a contracting background who want to step into a client-side environment, or
• Those already in consultancy or client-side roles looking for more autonomy, ownership and variety.

The Role

• Take commercial responsibility from feasibility and procurement through delivery to final account.
• Prepare cost plans, BOQs, tenders and contracts.
• Manage procurement, negotiate with suppliers and sub-contractors.
• Oversee budgets, variations, valuations and commercial reporting.
• Provide cost and risk advice to senior management, identifying value engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, designers and delivery teams.

The Ideal Candidate

• Quantity Surveyor with UK experience, either contractor-side, consultancy or client-side.
• Comfortable working across the detail of delivery as well as providing strategic cost advice.
• Knowledge of JCT / NEC contracts.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and stakeholder management.
• Ambition to progress within a client-side development business.
