Data Management & AI Governance Expert (Capital Markets)


Location: London – Cheapside (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 per annum plus benefits, perks and healthcare options

Note: Must Have Capital Markets Experience!


About the Role


We are seeking a Capital Markets Data Management & AI Governance Specialist to join a forward-thinking and dynamic team within a global financial services organization. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the development and governance of AI solutions and data strategy within the Global Equities and Cross Asset Derivatives business lines.


Key Responsibilities


Data Governance & Delivery


  • Lead the delivery of key data initiatives and manage high-priority datasets
  • Define critical data elements (CDEs), maintain business glossaries, and implement robust data quality frameworks
  • Identify and manage internal and external data sources, ensuring strong access and sharing controls.


AI & Technology Enablement


  • Build tools and processes for metadata management, data quality, and data sharing.
  • Leverage AI and automation tools to improve data governance capabilities.
  • Use Python, SQL, PySpark, Power BI, and related tools for data processing and visualization.


Strategy & Stakeholder Engagement


  • Provide subject matter expertise in data governance and AI governance.
  • Collaborate with business, data, and tech teams to align on data strategy and execution.
  • Act as a key liaison for data-related initiatives and innovation.


What We're Looking For:


Capital Markets Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of OTC Derivatives (any asset class), ideally with front office exposure.
  • Familiarity with trade lifecycle, pricing, and capital markets processes.


Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with large datasets and data profiling.
  • Proficiency in data tools: Power BI, Excel, SQL, Python, Databricks.
  • Familiarity with tools like Great Expectations, Pandas, Plotly, or MS Power Automate is a plus.
  • Able to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
