Longevity Actuary

This position sits within the UK Life division of a leading global reinsurer, operating in one of the most competitive life insurance markets worldwide. The role is part of the Longevity team, which plays a key part in delivering on the company’s core strategy pillars: protection, longevity, and reinsurance structuring.

Key Responsibilities

• Support deal origination, assessing opportunities and contributing to client engagement.
• Lead or support pricing of new longevity reinsurance quotes.
• Contribute to execution work including contract reviews and modelling checks.
• Review and challenge pricing assumptions and support basis and proposition development.
• Enhance pricing tools and processes to improve efficiency and competitiveness.
• Share knowledge of market developments and support team training and knowledge building.

Profile & Requirements

• Nearly or newly qualified actuary with relevant experience in the bulk annuity or longevity swap market.
• Strong commercial awareness of DB pension de-risking solutions.
• Strong analytical and modelling skills (Excel/VBA/other coding languages advantageous).
• Effective communicator with negotiation, stakeholder management, and training abilities.
• Collaborative team player, adaptable under pressure, and willing to challenge the status quo.
• Recognised as a subject matter expert and role model, contributing to an inclusive and respectful culture.
