Job description
Our client in the investment management sector is seeking an Operational Risk Senior Associate to join their Risk & Compliance team. This individual will play a pivotal role in supporting the business to identify, assess, and manage operational risks across the platform, providing second line oversight, challenge, and strategic input into key risk initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide independent review and challenge of risk incidents, ensuring robust root cause analysis and remediation
- Lead and facilitate Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) across business sectors
- Oversee the management of third-party risk in collaboration with the Operations team
- Support the development and execution of fraud risk assessments and related controls
- Design and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) in partnership with business stakeholders
- Conduct thematic deep dives to identify emerging risks and control gaps
- Assist in the production of the AIFIM ICAAP and ensure compliance with CBRE policy and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and present risk reporting for Risk Management Committees and boards, with the potential to chair certain Committees over time
- Own and maintain the Operational Risk Management section of the firm’s policy repository
- Play a key role in the firm’s Business Continuity Planning (BCP), ensuring readiness and resilience
- Support the implementation of risk tooling (GRC systems) and automation to enhance risk monitoring and reporting
- Act as a liaison with stakeholders across Operations, Digital & Technology, Internal Audit, Asset Managers, and Fund Controllers
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks, preferably within investment or asset management
- Proven experience in risk assessments, incident management, and business continuity planning
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate complex issues
- Analytical mindset with close attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Familiarity with risk systems, data governance, and emerging technologies that support risk analytics and reporting
