Job description

This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving and well established legal team on a Fixed Term Contract for a period of 9-12 months. The role is broad in nature and the business operates all over the world and leaders in the space of industrial products and services.


This dynamic and forward-thinking international group is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel to join its Group Legal team on a maternity cover basis. This is a high-impact interim role offering exposure to a wide range of commercial legal matters across multiple jurisdictions and business units.


The Role

As Legal Counsel, you’ll play a key role in enabling the business to deliver on its strategic objectives while ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, providing pragmatic, business-focused legal advice on a variety of matters including:


  • Commercial contracts – broand commercial matters but lots of work likely to focus around IT procurement, outsourcing, software licensing, SaaS, and infrastructure, distribution and service agreements.
  • Corporate transactions – supporting M&A activity from early-stage documentation through to integration.
  • Data Privacy/GDPR and compliance – contributing to the Group’s privacy programme and drafting relevant policies.
  • Strategic negotiations – advising on major customer, supplier, and distribution contracts.


You’ll also manage external counsel relationships and contribute to the development of legal processes and controls.


Ideal Candidate Profile

We’re looking for a commercially-minded solicitor with:


Essential:

  • UK-qualified (or equivalent) solicitor.
  • This role requires a minimum of 5/6 years PQE
  • Strong experience in IT procurement and outsourcing contracts would be hugely beneficial
  • Exposure to M&A transactions is a must,
  • Ability to deliver clear, practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach.


Desirable:

  • In-house or secondment experience.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • A mindset for continuous improvement and innovation.


Start date: ASAP

Salary: The salary guide is highly dependent on relevant experience and PQE level.

Office working: 1-2 days a week in London Office
