Title: Procurement Lead

Location: Leeds

Salary: up to £48,000

Elevation Recruitment Group’s Procurement & Supply Chain division are exclusively supporting an established manufacturer in Leeds as they look to recruit a Lead Buyer to join their growing team.

This is a great opportunity for a driven procurement professional to take ownership of sourcing, supplier performance, and process improvement across a complex manufacturing environment. The role offers real autonomy, involvement in strategic projects, and the chance to shape procurement best practice across the business.

The role:

• Lead the sourcing and purchasing of materials, components, and services

• Ensure compliance with material traceability standards and ASME codes

• Manage RFQs, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation

• Review engineering drawings and create purchasing BOMs

• Oversee inventory levels, Kanban management, and stock optimisation

• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships with performance tracking

• Support ERP implementation and system development

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain

About you:

• Strong understanding of manufacturing, fabrication, and engineering principles

• Experienced in sourcing direct/indirect materials, consumables, and services

• Knowledge of material traceability and certification

• ERP proficient (EFACS experience a bonus)

• Commercially astute with negotiation and cost management skills

• Confident interpreting technical drawings and specifications

Desirable:

• CIPS qualified (or working towards it)

• Familiar with lean and continuous improvement practices

• Background in regulated sectors such as defence, aerospace, or oil & gas

• Comfortable presenting procurement processes and supporting ERP projects
