Head of Operations – National Clinical Team

About the Opportunity
Harkaye Core Talent is proud to partner with a leading national law firm in the search for an accomplished Head of Operations to lead their national clinical team.
This is a pivotal non–fee-earning position designed for an experienced operational leader with a strong grounding in the legal sector — ideally with exposure to Clinical Negligence, Employer’s Liability / Public Liability (EL/PL), or Catastrophic Injury work.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for operational performance, leadership, and strategic delivery across a large, multi-site team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the national clinical team, ensuring exceptional service delivery and efficient performance.
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the firm’s business objectives and growth plans.
- Oversee workflow, resource management, and performance metrics to drive consistency and excellence across multiple offices.
- Lead, mentor, and support managers and team leaders to create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, including the Board, Partners, and Heads of Department, to enhance cross-functional efficiency and communication.
- Identify and execute process improvements, including technology adoption and systems optimisation, to improve client outcomes and operational results.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance frameworks.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on performance, productivity, and strategic initiatives to the executive leadership team.
About You
- Experienced in a senior operational or leadership role within a law firm or legal services environment.
- Background in Clinical Negligence, EL/PL, or Catastrophic Loss (you do not need to be a qualified lawyer).
- Strong commercial acumen and a proven record of driving operational excellence.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
- Confident communicator, capable of influencing at all levels.
- Analytical thinker with the ability to interpret complex data and implement evidence-based decisions.
- Adaptable, pragmatic, and resilient, with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
