Document Controller
Department: Quality
Location: Brighouse, UK
Reports To: Quality Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Purpose:
To support the creation and control of technical and quality documentation related to valve manufacturing, ensuring documents are accurately filed, tracked, updated and distributed in line with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Document Handling:
Assist in receiving, logging, and distributing engineering drawings, datasheets, and certificates.
Ensure documents are correctly filed and easily retrievable.
Help maintain version control and document status tracking.
Support Compliance:
Apply basic principles of document control in line with ISO 9001 and API standards.
Support internal audits by preparing and organizing documentation.
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure documentation is complete and up to date.
Communicate with suppliers and customers regarding document submissions.
System Use:
Use document management systems to upload and manage files.
Assist in updating document templates and registers as instructed.
Qualifications & Experience:
GCSEs or A-Levels (or equivalent) in relevant subjects (e.g., English, IT, Engineering).
Some experience in an office or administrative role is desirable but not essential.
Interest in engineering, manufacturing, or quality assurance.
Skills:
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Good organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Clear communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable:
Exposure to ERP or document control systems.
Familiarity with engineering drawings or technical documentation.
Experience within the Valve industry.
Salary
Highly competitive and negotiable depending on experience
Working Hours
38.3/4 hours per week
Monday to Thursday : 8.00am – 4.45pm – lunch 12.30 to 13.00 (or as required).
Friday : 8.00am – 13.30pm – no lunch
