Product Designer

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)

Salary: £45,000–£50,000 + equity

Start Date: ASAP Type: Full-time, Permanent

We’re thrilled to be working with a Newcastle-based AI scale-up on a mission to make artificial intelligence radically more efficient, transparent, and deployable at the edge.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a Product Designer to help shape the user experience of a truly novel AI platform. You’ll be designing tools that make complex logic-based models accessible to researchers, developers, and enterprise users - all while working alongside a world-class team spun out of Newcastle University and the University of Agder.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing clean, user-friendly interfaces for web-based tools used by developers and enterprise teams
• Collaborating closely with product managers and engineers to bring ideas to life
• Running user research and usability testing to validate design decisions
• Creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals in Figma
• Contributing to the design system and helping maintain consistency across the platform

What They’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in product design (agency or in-house)
• A portfolio that shows strong UX thinking and visual polish
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
• Bonus points for experience with AI, data tools, or developer platforms — but not essential
• Someone curious, collaborative, and keen to grow
