Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum (DOE) + Overtime + Bonus

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00–17:00, Friday 08:00–13:00

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Sliding Head Setter / Programmer to join a precision engineering manufacturer based in Watford. This role will see you working on Citizen or Star sliding head machines, producing intricate components in small to medium batch runs. You’ll be programming, setting and operating to aerospace-level tolerances using a variety of high-specification materials, including stainless steel, aluminium, brass, and titanium.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and program Citizen or Star sliding head lathes for precision batch production.
• Work confidently from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Carry out first-off inspections and quality checks to ensure accuracy.
• Manage both prototype and repeat batch work in line with schedules.
• Collaborate with production team to maintain machine performance, troubleshoot and optimise.
• Maintain a safe, clean and efficient working environment.

About You

• Proven experience with CNC sliding head lathes (Citizen or Star).
• Strong background in setting, programming and operating to tight tolerances.
• Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality output.
