Private Client Solicitor – 5+ PQE

Putney (with hybrid working)


Are you a driven and technically excellent Private Client solicitor seeking your next challenge? One of London’s well‑established full‑service firms is expanding their Private Client team and looking for someone exactly like you — someone who can combine strong legal expertise with commercial appetite, relationship building, and leadership potential.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A solicitor with ~5+ years’ PQE, excellent academic credentials.
  • Broad Private Client experience, ideally including trusts, taxation, mental capacity, cross‑border work.
  • STEP / ATT / CTA or similar qualifications (or working towards them) are very desirable.
  • Strong commercial sense: you should be punctual with billing, able to manage fees and WIP, and motivated by contributing to the growth of the team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client‑management skills, able to build and maintain relationships with clients, referrers (e.g. Accountants, wealth managers), colleagues across departments, and external professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing your own complex caseload, drafting wills, giving inheritance, tax, trusts advice.
  • Supervising junior fee earners (trainees, paralegals) and contributing to internal mentoring.
  • Business development: writing articles, networking, cultivating referrer relationships.
  • Maintaining excellent financial performance on your files: billing, managing WIP, meeting targets.
  • Continuous professional development & maintaining up‑to‑date qualification status.
