Milk Education are proud to be partnering with several large, forward-thinking secondary schools in Leeds and Wakefield , seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated SEND and Inclusion Team.


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional learning needs, ensuring every student can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.


Role Overview:

You’ll provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with special educational needs, helping them develop key skills for learning, confidence, and independence. Working closely with class teachers and the SENDCO, you’ll adapt resources, promote inclusion, and encourage resilience and engagement within the classroom.


Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEND in lessons and through targeted interventions.
  • Build positive relationships and act as a role model for young people.
  • Encourage independence and celebrate resilience and achievement.
  • Contribute to behaviour management and pastoral support.
  • Assist with record-keeping and progress tracking.
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, and inclusion standards at all times.


We’re looking for:

  • Experience supporting students with SEND (e.g. Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties).
  • A nurturing, patient, and proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-focused approach.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths – essential.
  • Relevant TA or SEND qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3) – desirable.
