Job description
Selby Jennings have partnered with a well-established Lloyd's syndicate, insuring a broad and evolving portfolio of specialty lines, including property treaty, casualty treaty, cyber & technology, marine, energy, terrorism, political & financial risks, professional indemnity, financial institutions, and more.
They are seeking a Nearly or Newly Qualified Actuary to join their Syndicate Pricing team as a Pricing Analyst / Actuary. The role will support the development of pricing models and provide actuarial input across a diverse portfolio, working closely with underwriters on individual account pricing and strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include analysing rate change, inflation, and price adequacy, monitoring performance trends, contributing to model enhancements, and supporting regulatory reporting. The role also involves cross-functional collaboration and exploring new data sources to improve pricing accuracy and insight.
Role Requirements:
- Nearly or newly qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent).
- 3-6 years of actuarial pricing experience within the Lloyd's market.
- Strong technical pricing skills across multiple classes of business.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the ability to translate complex analysis into actionable insights.
- A commercial mindset and sound judgment in making decisions amid ambiguity.
- Proficiency in Excel and actuarial modelling tools; Python, R, SQL, hx Renew, or PowerBI/Tableau experience is a plus.
