Job description

Corporate Associate (Private Equity & M&A, 1–3PQE) – Elite US Firm – Central London

Our client, a prestigious US law firm with a top-tier reputation in private equity, is seeking a high-calibre Corporate Associate (1–3PQE) to join its market-leading team in London. This is a rare opportunity to join one of the most elite transactional practices globally, working on complex, high-value deals for the world’s most sophisticated investors.

About the Firm

With over 1,000 lawyers worldwide and a strong presence across the US, Europe, and Asia, our client is consistently ranked among the global elite for private equity and M&A. The London office is the firm’s second-largest and plays a central role in its international strategy, advising on some of the most high-profile and innovative transactions in the market.

The firm’s global private equity practice is recognised as one of only a handful of true market leaders. It advises more than 300 private equity clients worldwide, including the 10 largest global private equity funds.

The Role

This opportunity arises due to continued growth and sustained deal flow. The successful candidate will join a high-performing team of over 45 lawyers in London, including 12 partners and 29 associates, working closely with colleagues across Europe and the US.

You will be involved in a broad range of private equity and M&A transactions, including:

  • Leveraged buyouts and take-privates
  • Cross-border acquisitions and disposals
  • Joint ventures and strategic investments
  • Portfolio company advisory work
  • Corporate reorganisations and exits

The team is known for its collaborative approach, lean deal teams, and high levels of associate responsibility. You will gain exposure to headline transactions and work directly with clients from day one.

What They’re Looking For

  • 1–3PQE, ideally UK qualified (though strong international candidates will be considered)
  • Experience in private equity, M&A, or general corporate transactions from a leading international or City firm
  • Strong academic background and excellent technical skills
  • Commercial mindset, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • A team player with strong communication and client-handling skills

Why Apply?

This is a standout opportunity to join one of the most prestigious private equity teams in the world. Key selling points include:

  • New York-level salary
  • Softer hours target than many peer US firms
  • High levels of responsibility and client exposure
  • Collaborative and supportive culture
  • Modern offices in the heart of the City
