What’s the role about?

As an NPD Development Technologist, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the team across all areas of new product development – from concept right through to the finished product hitting the shelves. Your work will involve everything from testing and documentation to kitchen experiments and customer-facing presentations.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure product development stays on track and on time.
  • Working closely with customers to make sure their requirements and expectations are met.
  • Supporting the implementation of Product Development processes, completing documentation, and ensuring everything is kept up to date.
  • Participating in taste panels, benchmarking sessions, and conducting regular product quality reviews.
  • Preparing samples for customer presentations, ensuring everything is pitch-perfect.
  • Maintaining an organised, efficient development kitchen, including managing stock and ordering raw materials as needed.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • A food-related degree and a passion for product development.
  • Experience in an NPD or similar technologist role
  • A strong interest in food trends and the latest in lifestyle or product innovations.
  • A hands-on approach – you’ll be involved in every stage of product development and will need to work proactively to solve problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – you’ll be interacting with internal teams and external clients regularly.
  • Numerical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • A driving licence and willingness to travel both in the UK and globally.
  • The permanent right to work in the UK

What’s in it for you?

This is your chance to work in a truly innovative, ever-evolving food development environment. The company is investing heavily in new product development, and as part of the team, you’ll be right at the heart of innovation, bringing creative food concepts to life on a global scale.
