Quantity Surveyor in Wimbledon

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor from a main contracting background to support a series of commercial and retail fit-out projects in South West London.

You’ll be joining a well-established London contractor delivering Cat A and Cat B fit-outs, commercial refurbishments, and resi-to-commercial conversions. The role involves taking ownership of cost management, procurement, and commercial reporting from tender through to final account.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and tender documentation
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, valuations, and variations
• Administer JCT contracts and manage commercial change control
• Provide accurate cost reporting and forecasting
• Liaise with project and site teams to maintain commercial control

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience within main contracting
• Background in commercial, retail, or fit-out projects
• Strong understanding of JCT contracts
• Confident working independently on multiple packages
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Details:

• Contract length: 3–6 months
• Location: South West London (on-site)
• Reporting to: Commercial Manager
• Rate: Competitive / going rate
