Director – Building Surveying

Location: West Midlands (Hybrid)

Salary: £100K–£120K + Bonus + Long-Term Incentive Potential

The Opportunity

A leading multi-disciplinary consultancy is making a key senior appointment within its West Midlands leadership team. This new Director-level position is designed for an ambitious Building Surveying professional ready to step into a strategic leadership role driving client relationships, business development, and team growth within a high-performing consultancy environment.

You’ll have the autonomy to shape the regional Building Surveying offering, supported by the wider business infrastructure and a trusted national brand. The role offers the rare blend of entrepreneurial freedom and corporate stability ideal for a senior leader who wants to build something meaningful with genuine long-term impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Building Surveying function across the West Midlands region.
• Take ownership of client engagement, business development, and project delivery.
• Develop new relationships while maintaining and expanding key client accounts.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level surveyors, fostering a culture of quality and collaboration.
• Work closely with Project Management, Cost, Architecture, and MEP divisions to deliver multi-disciplinary solutions.
• Contribute strategically to the regional business plan, including recruitment, profitability, and future growth strategy.

About You

• Senior Building Surveyor / Associate Director / Director seeking a leadership step.
• Proven client-facing professional with strong business development credentials.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and convert opportunities.
• Commercially astute with experience across project-led Building Surveying.
• Capable of operating independently while leveraging wider consultancy support.
• Ideally chartered (MRICS) with extensive consultancy experience.
