Quality Inspector in Wolverhampton

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to join our team on a 24-month fixed term contract. This role is focused on manual inspection, ensuring the quality and precision of both in-house and supply chain products. Exposure to CMM is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct manual inspections using hand tools (micrometers, height gauges, shadowgraph, vision systems) to verify parts and assemblies meet specifications.
• Support machinist inspectors and the Quality Team in maintaining manufacturing standards.
• Perform final assembly inspections to ensure product quality.
• Write non-conformance reports and support investigations into technical issues.
• Collaborate with the team to improve processes; experience with lean initiatives is beneficial but not essential.
• Support basic CMM measurement and report verification (desirable, not essential).

Skills & Experience

• HNC/HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Strong expertise in manual inspection methods and equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively at all levels.
• Exposure to CMM measurement systems is beneficial.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing is a plus.
• Knowledge of quality processes (PPAP, APQP, Six Sigma) is advantageous.
