Application Tester in City of London

My App is looking for an Application Tester in City of London

Job description

We’re hiring: Application Tester (iOS or Android) — Join a team that ships delightful user experiences

Who we are We’re a fast-growing tech company building products that people love to use every day. We blend design, engineering, and data to turn complex problems into simple, magical experiences. If you’re excited about breaking things before users do and turning feedback into perfect software, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll do

  • Think like a user: design and execute test plans, test cases, and exploratory testing for iOS and/or Android apps
  • Catch edge cases, regression bugs, performance hiccups, and accessibility gaps before they reach our customers
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define quality metrics and acceptance criteria
  • Write clear, maintainable bug reports with steps to reproduce, expected vs. Actual results, and impact
  • Triage and prioritize defects, track status, and verify fixes
  • Contribute to test automation strategy and, where possible, build/maintain automated tests
  • Participate in release readiness activities: release notes, risk assessments, and sprint reviews
  • Help shape QA processes, promote quality culture, and share learnings with the team

What we’re looking for

  • Experience testing mobile apps on iOS and/or Android (hands-on in a product/web/mobile app environment)
  • Strong eye for detail and a user-centric mindset
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, JIRA/issue tracking, and test case management
  • Ability to write clear, reproducible bug reports and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Optional but nice-to-have: basic automation scripting, API testing, performance testing, accessibility testing
  • Bonus: knowledge of mobile devices, OS versions, and real-device testing vs. Emulators/simulators

What you’ll bring

  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for quality
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a bias for action
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills

Why you’ll love working here

  • Impact: your work directly influences user happiness and product success
  • Growth: learning budget, mentorship, and opportunities to level up testing and automation
  • Culture: inclusive, transparent, and focused on experimentation and iteration
  • Perks: flexible hybrid/remote options, competitive compensation, health benefits, and wellness stipends
  • Tech you’ll touch: modern mobile stacks, cloud services, and a culture that values experimentation

Role details

  • Location: Remote or Hybrid (your preferred timezone)
  • Type: Full-time
  • Reports to: QA Lead / Head of Engineering (depends on team)
  • Start date: ASAP

How to apply

  • Send your resume and a brief note on a cool testing experience you’re proud of
  • If you have a test artifact (bug report, test plan, or a short demo), feel free to share
  • Include your preferred work setup, location, and if you’re targeting iOS, Android, or both

Want to learn more or chat about the role? Reach out directly or apply via LinkedIn. We can’t wait to see how you’ll help us ship quality, delightful apps that users love.
